Children Are NOT Off Limits

Two little girls, ages 11 and 12, were arrested in Bartow, Florida last week for conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a weapon on school property. These two babies, because that's what I consider 11/12 year olds, had devised a plan to stab and kill as many children as possible at their school. The girls were found by their Assistant Principal hiding in a school bathroom after the Assistant Principal learned of the school attack from a teacher who received information from a student regarding the plan. When the Assistant Principal found the girls one was holding a glass that she suspected contained alcohol; she then escorted the girls to the Principal's office and having them empty their pockets, one girl emptied a paring knife and sharpener on to his desk. The principal then asked the girl why she had the items and she said her and her peer "were planning on attacking and killing as many students as possible."

Upon searching the girls the police found more weapons including a butcher knife and the girls made comments stating they are "Satan worshippers" and they planned on "killing at least 15 kids." Additionally, the police found a hand drawn map of the school and text messages that stated the girls intended to drink blood and eat flesh as well as leave body parts at the entrance of the school. After the attack the girls plan was to commit suicide, suicide!

Are you just as blown away as me in reading those details?! I was completely heartbroken to read the story of these two girls and this elaborate plan they had devised to commit murder and suicide. Even going as far as hiding in the bathroom to overpower younger victims. I am so thankful that school leadership were made aware of this plan and sprung into action. Children as "Satan worshippers"?! Only one culprit here and that's Satan himself! Again, these were 11 and 12 year old girls so this idea that Satan only comes after adults is WRONG! Children are NOT off limits to him; he walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour. 1 Peter 5:8 He does not say "oh those are children so I cannot touch them" but instead he finds subtle ways to influence their hearts and minds. Which is why it is so important that as mothers/parents/guardians we cover them in prayer and monitor what their spirits take in because at these tender ages they are so impressionable. It is critical in today's world that you set a solid foundation for your children that points them back to God. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way in which he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Children are a gift from the Lord, Psalm 127:3; so it's important you protect your gift, raise your gift, nurture your gift, and ensure your gift has everything he/she needs to survive in this world. We cannot be unaware of the tricks, plots, and plans of the enemy and we must not think he will not attack the very thing we love. If anything, that gives him a greater desire to attack our children especially when he isn't winning with us because he knows their hurt is our hurt. So I encourage you to pray for your children DAILY, monitor what they take in through television and radio even cartoons aren't always harmless, and monitor your words and actions as it relates to them.

Here's a few things I do to protect my children and cover them in prayer:

1. I apologize when I am wrong or have caused some harm.

I do this to ensure the enemy has no room to slide in with whispers into their ears that they are not loved. I will not allow him to deposit seeds of rejection, neglect, or abandonment into their hearts. Also, because I never want them to think I am exempt from making mistakes.

2. I pray for them and cover them in the blood of Jesus Christ, surrounding them with a hedge of protection as they go and as they come. This is a sample of a prayer I use:

Thank You God for these children that are a gift from You, thank You for trusting me to raise them and trusting me with their lives and hearts, thank You for the gifts that You have given to them, thank You for the Angels You have given charge over their lives. You said that no weapon formed against us shall prosper so I thank You for victory in their lives that they will be exactly who You called and predestined them to be even before the formation of this world. I thank You that You will protect them as they go and as they come, that You will guard their minds, their hearts, their eye and ear gauges that anything of not of You falls deaf that they ONLY hear the voice of the Lord. I pray God for the relationships they have with classmates that it be for Your glory God that if there is any relationship unlike You that it is removed in the name of Jesus. I cover them Lord God with the precious Blood of Jesus that redeems, saves, protects, heals, and delivers from the top of their heads to the sole of their feet. Surround them with a hedge of protection God that no danger will come their way as You said no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Thank You God for being faithful to Your word and to us, I thank You that it is so in Jesus name Amen.

3. I monitor what they are allowed to watch and listen to, every cartoon isn't a good cartoon. This is the way the enemy deposits subtle messages and creates open doors for demonic activity. Here are some that are off limits because of the subtle or blatant witchcraft practices or references:

1. Sofia the First

2. Elena of Avalor

3. Smurfs

4. Lalaloopsy

5. Vampirina

These are just some of the cartoons that are off limits in our house and I also do not allow them to watch things with hypnosis, chanting, witches, warlocks, wizards.....because those are seeds the enemy wants to deposit of witchcraft and other occult practices being accepted.

4. I pray for their fathers as well as myself that God will not allow anything we have done past or present to have a negative impact upon our children. I pray that God shows me my heart and guides me in raising them, that I can be everything they need me to be.

Children's first heartbreaks are often caused by parents be it an absent parent or a broken parent and it's important to make sure we are not causing heartbreak through our actions.

5. Pray for their schools: the building, the students, the administration.

Pray for the environment to be an environment that thrives in learning, free of bullying, free of stress, and that everyone student has a desire to learn and be kind. Cancel every plot, plan, trick of the enemy to incite violence in Jesus name. Cover every window, door, exit, and entryway with the blood of Jesus that no danger or harm will walk through an entrance or an exit and every plan of the enemy for violence is cancelled in Jesus name.
