Why D.O.P.E. Mommy?

D.O.P.E. Mommy was founded by Alexis Smith a D.O.P.E. Mommy to four amazing daughters who understands the challenges of balancing both motherhood and womanhood mothers face daily. The platform was created as a Facebook group that quickly grew to over 4,000 members, all Mommies, from across the U.S. and even a couple international Moms. (You will find I capitalize Mommy/Moms/Mom often as I believe we have earned it and it would be a disservice not to.) The platform was created to encourage, inspire, and support Moms across the world as Moms are often taken for granted and don't receive the accolades in which they deserve.

As a Mom of four, I know how challenging each day can be to balance caretaking for four children, graduate school studies, work, and just trying to maintain my own sanity-it can be a doozy for sure. However, I also know the value of community and what can be achieved through encouragement, inspiration, and support of likeminded individuals which is why I believe D.O.P.E. Mommy is needed. As a believer and follower of Christ I hope to be the encouragement, inspiration, and support other mothers who may feel lost in the lives of their children as I know that feeling all too well. I'll write and share with you some of my day to day experiences as a Mommy, a Woman, A Christ Follower, and Wife in Waiting (Oh he's coming). My standard in sharing will always be the Bible as my faith is what led me here and I believe it's my responsibility to not only share transparently (God has really grown me here) but share the best counsel known to man-God's unchanging word; there will also be some humor along the way because God has definitely given me a sense of humor. I also, hope to learn from you and grow with you as each day is a new day to learn, apply, and pursue.

Our children are a BIG part of our lives but they are not the only part so let's embark on this journey of community building together as we Demand Opportunity and Pursue Excellence in all things.
